Open Food Facts
When you scan a barcode, product information (name, ingredient list, allergen warnings declared by the manufacturer) comes from Open Food Facts, an open database built from community contributions.
The Open Food Facts database is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. Individual contents are under the Database Contents License (DbCL) 1.0. Product images are under CC BY-SA 3.0.
Community data may be incomplete or out of date. That is why LabelCue always gives priority to the text on the label you photograph.
Labels you photograph
Most results come from the text on the label you photograph, read on your phone.
Allergen detection rule set
The list of allergen groups, alternative names (for example “whey” and “casein” belong to the Milk group) and cross-contamination warning phrases (“may contain”, “có thể chứa”) is compiled by LabelCue. Each release has a version number and a review date, shown in the app’s About section.
Fonts and icons
The Be Vietnam Pro typeface is used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
